Trail Extension Projects
Ozaukee County, WI

The trail extension projects throughout the County have significantly improved safety for Trail users by adding off-road trail sections to replace on-road segments or hazardous areas and enhanced aesthetic features for the Trail. In the Town of Port Washington, a new off-road Trail was constructed to move Trail users off the busy road. This new Trail lies adjacent to the abandoned route. In the City of Mequon, the Trail was realigned to provide a safer route for Trail users. The new Trail segment was moved to the other side of the substation. In the City of Cedarburg, the new Trail runs behind the Cedarburg Public Library, moving people off the roads. The Ozaukee County Planning and Parks Department has proposed a new Trail that extends the Trail further in order to reduce on-road trail sections.
